The November Coins and Banknotes Sale will feature a diverse selection of numismatic material, including ancient coins, milled coins, gold, silver, medals, and tokens. The sale includes an extensive section dedicated to gold coins, showcasing a variety of British sovereigns and half-sovereigns, along with an impressive assortment of foreign gold coins.

Among the highlights is a spectacular Ancient Greek gold fifty litrai coin from Syracuse, dating back to approximately 310-306 BC, which features a bust of Apollo on the reverse. Coins from the Commonwealth of England are always popular, and among the rarest are those issued with the bust of Oliver Cromwell. We are pleased to offer a gold broad dated 1656; while it is an ex-mount, it remains in very good condition and is difficult to obtain in any grade.

For 20th century gold enthusiasts, a George VI four-coin gold proof set from 1937 is a standout offering. Only around 5,500 sets were issued, making this set particularly sought after. The present set is in excellent condition and has been in the same family since new.

Additionally, for collectors of Victorian bun pennies, we are including an extremely rare 1877 narrow date variety (Freeman 90), one of the scarcest varieties in the bun penny series.

The sale will also feature a collection of Papal States coins and bullae, a strong representation of the Royal Mint and modern coins, as well as an interesting selection of tokens and medals.

Lots 133-381  will have a commission rate of 15.0% + VAT (18.0% in total), all other lots 24.0% + VAT (28.8% in total)
