Tennants Auctioneers’ Fine Jewellery, Watches and Silver Sale on 16th July is set to include 120 lots of attractive and beautiful pieces of jewellery, with a selection of fine jewels by Boodles, Bulgari, Chopard, Tiffany, Hennell and Cartier. Highlights of which includes a French Coral, Onyx, Diamond and Seed Pearl Tassel Pendant on a Chain by Cartier (estimate: £4,000-6,000 plus buyer’s premium), a Pair of 18 Carat Gold Diamond ‘Raindance’ Earrings by Boodles (estimate: £2,000-3,000), and a Starfish Pendant and Matching Earrings, designed by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. (estimate: £1,000-1,500).
An impressive Victorian Silver Four-Light Candelabrum presented to a high-ranking British Army officer is amongst a strong offering of 160 lots of silver and objects of vertu. The Candelabrum was made by John Mortimer and John Samuel Hunt of London in 1840 and presented to Lt. General the Right Honourable Sir Edward Blakeney K.C.B., G.C.H. (1778-1868) by ‘A Few Friends in Dublin’.
Highlights of the watch section include a fine and rare 1963 ‘Ed White’ Pre-Moon Omega Speedmaster (estimate: £7,000-9,000 plus buyer’s premium). The 105.003 reference is colloquially referred to as the ‘Ed White’, having been worn by NASA astronaut Edward Higgins White (1930-1967) when he became the first American to walk in space two years before his death in Apollo 1.
