Blakelock, London, 1831, oblong 8vo (qty: 20 boxes) Provenance: John Harold Fawcett CMG (1929-2019), British diplomat, many works containing his armorial bookplate, with the motto 'Non nobis solum sed patriae' ('Not for ourselves alone but for our country') . Fawcett served as ambassador to North Vietnam, 1974-1975, counsellor and head of chancery, Poland, 1975-1978, deputy high commissioner, New Zealand, 1978-1986, and ambassador to Bulgaria, 1986-1989 (twenty boxes) The lot sold as seen, not subject to return.
