Layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. Stretcher shadow in evidence (see image). Areas of wide spaced craquelure, with some associated patches of slightly lifting paint (see image). The odd small sized paint loss to the surface, for example just above the sheep (see image) and also approx 15cm from the bottom on the right hand side edge (see image) but not exclusively. A slightly larger area of paint loss approx half way down the left hand side edge (see image). Transfer from the gilding on the frame evident in two areas down the right hand side edge (see image). Not examined under UV light.
