Sotheby's 22nd March 2000, Lot 194
The Boydell Gallery, Liverpool
Private Collection, UK
Contadina with child - In a broadly good state of preservation, some general time staining to sheet which is more evident within the less worked areas such as the sky. Some evidence of light fading to the colours, the blue apron worn by the seated lady for example and the green of the vegetation lower edge centre display a slightly grey hue. No evidence of cockling. Not examined out of the frame.
In a broadly comparable condition to the former. His trousers however of a good bright blue. The white highlight on the coat of the dog seems a little incongruous. One tiny brown coloured slightly diagonal mark against upper right-hand side edge no more than 0.5cm in length. No evidence of cockling. Not examined out of the frame.
