A Mahogany Two Day Marine Chronometer, signed H Hughes & Son Ltd, London, No.1796, circa 1870, concealed side carrying handles, front ivory plaque signed and numbered, inside case with label inscribed N V Observator Rotterdam Chronometer Makers to the Navy, 4-inch silvered dial with Roman numerals signed and numbered, reserve power and seconds, single fusee movement with "Harrisons" maintaining power and "Earnshaws" type spring detent escapement, diamond endstone, free sprung helical hairspring, compensation balance with weights and timing screws, movement in a gimbal numbered 310, 17cm high

25.09.13, Case is missing the top lid and hinges, case surface colour has faded due to sunlight, case with some scratches in parts and chips to edges, gimbal and metal surfaces have faded, dial is slightly faded and needs re-silvering, hands have been painted black, movement is dirty and needs cleaning, in going order.

We are happy to provide Condition Reports to Prospective Buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale.
