Lined, all keys present. Good tension but a little stiff.Impasto slightly flatened. Broad brittle age craquelure in patches throughout, including in places at the stretcher bar junctions. Cracks are not elevated and currently secure. Most notably are a series of diagonal cracks, some of which are suppressed by a grey opaque overpaint, in the centre of the painting. Further small patches of overpaint scattered in the sky in a more grey or bright blue paint (see images in UV). Concentrated around the cracks to the centre and in the top right quadrant. Further greyish opaque overpaint to the right of the water, and below right of the mooring barrel. Further smaller touches throughout, including in the moon. Likely the overpaint is to suppress minor abrasion as well as cracks. Minor abrasion, especially to the delicate mask, rigging and darks of boats, and to the sky. A little old ingrained dirt and varnish. A fairly even upper varnish with a few scuffs and scratches including a long diagonal scratch tothe varnish in top right quadrant. A fairly thick layer of dust, debris and cobwebs. A few tiny white flecks and surface accretions.
