An interesting collection of 19th century photographs recording a visit to Queensland. Images include views of Brisbane, the Brisbane and Tweed rivers, bridges, flooding, topography, railways, gardens, Glass House Mountain, Toowoomba and Hamleigh, followed by photographs recording the voyage home including Sri Lanka, Aden, the Suez Canal and Malta.
Late 19th century, 114 photographs of Australia (112 mounted in folio album, one loose and badly creased, one cabinet card), five images of Sri Lanka, nine of the Middle East and five of Malta. Various image sizes: 18cm x 23cm, 14.8cm x 19.8cm, 14.6cm x 21cm, 9.8cm x 14.6cm, etc., manuscript title under the majority. Some dust marking and foxing of album leaves, all edges gilt, worn half leather binding.
