Taxidermy: A Cased Common Scoter Duck and Cased European Jays, circa 1880-1900, a full mount adult Common Scoter drake in swimming pose upon a painted water base, set against a competently painted shoreline back drop, enclosed within a typical period ebonised single-glass display case, 47.5cm by 16.5cm by 32.5cm, very much in the manner of Wm. R. Hine, Taxidermist's, of Southport, together with a cased pair of European Jays, both mounted above one another amidst tall dry grasses, above lichen and moss covered groundwork beneath, set against a plain papered interior, enclosed within a typical period ebonised single-glass display case, 42.5cm 17cm by 40.5cm, (2).
