There are areas of retouching, this is very apparent in the vegetation and grass in the upper left hand corner of the work. This is no starting to discolour slightly and the paint in that area is rather dry and flaking off. The left hand side edge of the canvas has been rubbing in the rebate of the old frame and has thus caused a little area of missing paint. There is some dirt and discoloured varnish to the picture surface but this is minimal and it is contained within a replacement plain Scandinavian gilt wooden frame, possibly placed on the picture in the 1980/90s.
