“Cloudy Autumn”
Signed, oil on canvas, together with a companion, 24cm by 34.5cm (2)
Provenance: Cooling Galleries, London
Sold for £600
Estimated at £600 - £900
Each relined, cleaned and revarnished. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish now in evidence.
Example featuring the figure on a path: some very minor rubbing/imperfection to outer edges. Retouching to lower left hand corner and some likely general strengthening to the grey of the sky.
Second example: signature possibly with some strengthening, also with some possible mild strengthening to grey of sky. Slight stretcher shadow, more prominantly on the upright horizontal.
Each slightly flattened as a result of the relining process, but broadly in a stable and presentable state of preservation.
