In fully restored condition, slightly stiffly relined cleaned and re-varnished. Some surface dirt and discoloured varnish now in evidence. The paint is slightly thin in places as a result of the restoration process. The canvas has slightly slipped in the frame and top edge in particular is adrift and exposed. Some slight rubbing/abrasions along top edge. Minor and sporadic retouching to top edge with relatively sporadic retouching and infilling to old cracquelure within the masonry of the upper fireplace and the ceiling / darker tones above the figure group which extends across to the hanging blue coat. Further delicate and sporadic infilling to liley old cracquelure within darker tones and shadows beneath the wooden table. The lower left-hand sleeve of the young girl on the floor wearing the red skirt has been repainted and the left-hand side of her waist has been strengthened. Some of the darker tones and shadows across the clothing of the seated figure has been retouched or strengthened as have some of the more subtle shadows belonging to the lower parts in the main of the overcoat worn by the young child laid on the floor. Other more sporadic less notable retouches elsewhere to redefine areas of darker definition in the main. Otherwise in a broadly and presentable state of presentation.
