Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Dome of North and South American Birds, circa 1880-1900, a colourful display of twenty three various species, to include - Blackburnian warbler, Yellow warbler, Magnolia warbler, Scarlet tanager, Ruby-throated hummingbird, American goldfinch, Baltimore oriole, Black-backed woodpecker, Ruby-crowned kinglet, Field sparrow, Rose-breasted grosbeak, White-breasted nuthatch, Ruby-throated hummingbird, Snow bunting, Yellow-bellied sapsucker, Black-capped chickadee, Cedar waxwing, Red-winged blackbird, Yellow-shafted flicker, Eastern bluebird, Eastern kingbird, all mounted upon and around a centrally positioned branch, set above soil and grit covered groundwork, enclosed beneath a large period oval glass dome, supported on the original base, 48.5cm by 20.5cm by 58cm overall

crack to dome rear left side, not immediately noticeable when viewed from the front, also a shallow chip to the lower front right side. The dome is structurally sound.

Highlights include a large Late Victorian Diorama of Sea and Estuary Birds, circa 1880-1900 and a cased Late Victorian King Charles’ Spaniel “Charlie”, circa 1860-1880 from the Harold Soar Collection, a cased Mandarin Duck, late 20th century from a private collection of cases mounted by David Keningale, and a Diorama of Red-Legged Partridge, 1997 from a private collection of cases by Colin Dunton.
