A French Louis Philippe Model 1814 Elite Carabiniere's Brass Faced Steel Cuirass and Back Plate, the cuirass re-applied with the French Eagle Emblem of Emperor Napoleon the Third, in brass on a steel rayed base plate, with brass lugs and studs, the back of the shallow skirt engraved "Manufactre Royale de Klingenthal Juillet 1833", the back plate with two shoulder straps, each of two bands of curb link chains with the remains of leather backing straps, with shaped brass fixing plate pierced with two keyhole shaped lug slots, the reverse of the base engraved "Manufactre Royale de Klingenthal, Juin 1832"

Minor dents and scratches commensurate with age. The left shoulder strap only has a small amount of the leather backing. The right shoulder strap has the leather backing which has split through at the top.
