Covered in a thick layer of dirt and discoloured varnish. General rubbing and abrasions to edges and odd minor and isolated patch of fine flaking i.e background towards upper left hand corner, in addition to on her left hand breast. Surface slightly flattend and paint is thin in places from historical restoration. There has been some general strenghtening through the background in addition to some of the shadows and definition within her costume and attire under the curl of hair right hand side, etc.The face and flesh areas seem broadly less affected. The face and flesh tones generally less affacted with small area of flaked paint to her left hand cheek in addition to the damage, otherwise in broadly country house condition consistant with age including the odd relatively minor surface scuff, abrasions, etc.
