Taxidermy: A Cased Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), dated 1940, a skin mount preserved within a naturalistic setting amidst reeds and grasses, set above a pebbled river bed, the fish in swimming pose with head raised reaching for an anglers fly, mounted against a pale blue painted back drop, enclosed within a typical period ebonised three-glass display case, 77.5cm by 19cm by 39.5cm, gilt legend to interior upper right - "Rainbow Trout 2lbs 14ozs, Leckford Estate, Stockbridge, August 25th 1940", restorers trade label to verso - Mark Ball & Ann Nash, Restorers of Victorian Taxidermy, Berkeley, Gloucestershire
