Manuscript Journal of Joseph Walls of Kelfield, North Yorkshire, including an account of a sea voyage from Hull to Quebec, April 21st 1835 to August 25th 1835, on board the ship 'Foster', including remarks on the weather, wages received and stores on board the ship. Approximately 130pp. (account of voyage to Quebec 54pp.), ink and pencil on paper, leather binding (rubbed), quarto (240mm x 195mm).
The main account records a voyage to Quebec and back to Hull in 1835 that took four months and four days. Following this account are passages from the bible, a few pages in a different hand and other 'Remarks', including 'York Railway opened to Selby and Leeds' dated 1839.
