An Early to Mid-18th Century Ivory Fan, with carved and pierced monture, the sticks slender, the gorge carved in several bands and painted in soft greens with touches of pink, complementing the upper guards. The double paper leaf, almost completely découpé, is painted in soft pastels with a woman and young boy in the countryside, the reserves filled with flowers and leaves and butterflies. The verso is painted with a delicate spray of pink flowers and green foliage. Guard length 10.75 inches or 27.5cm
