Osgood, McIlvaine …., 1894, all edges gilt, half calf binding, re-backed, retaining original ‘repousse’ leather spine, pencil inscription attributing binding and decorative endpapers to Alice Shepherd (described by The Magazine of Art as ‘one of the most successful artists in repousse …’). Gilt ‘signature’ of Cedric Chivers of Bath to rear turn-in.
