A George III Ebonised Striking Table Clock, signed Willm Randall, Newbury, circa 1810, the single padded arched top with later finials, side carrying handles and sound frets, gilt metal mounted masked canted corners, rectangular base raised upon bracket shaped feet, 9-inch arched silvered dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and signed, date dial, the arch with fast/slow selection, engraved with floral decoration to the corners, twin fusee movement with anchor escapement, striking on a bell, movement backplate signed and engraved with scroll decoration, movement secured with brackets, 55cm high

William Randall is recorded working in Newbury 1795-1812. See Baillie (GH) Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World, pg 263.

(15.09.09), Case with damage to the top side, cracks and veneer missing, later finials, pieces around the case with small chips to edges and some ebonised surfaces are rubbed, inside left hand side of the case beneath movement bracket signs of two spare holes, which appear to match up directly across to two other very small holes on the movement backplate, appears the bracket has been moved in the past, dial surface appears discoloured and stained, movement appears dirty and need cleaning.
