Born in Cairo in 1952, Diamantopoulo was an advertising copyrighter until 1989 when he set up a studio in Brighton to work exclusively as a sculptor. His first exhibition was at the Tryon Gallery in 1990, with annual shows at the same venue until 1996. He was elected an Associate Member of the Royal Society of British Sculptures in 2000. He lives and works in East Sussex.
