A First World War Casualty Group, awarded to 4554 PTE. (Lance Corporal) J.(JOSEPH) ISMAY, L.N.LAN.R., comprising 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal and Memorial Plaque in cardboard envelope of issue with Buckingham Palace award slip.

Footnote:- 4554 Lance Corporal Joseph Stoddart Ismay of WO 329 Company, The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment was born 30th November 1882, the son of Thomas and Agnes Nancy Ismay, of 127, Grey Rock Street, Liverpool.
He was killed in action during the Battle of the Somme at Guillemont on 18th August 1916 aged 33 years, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Picardie, France. He is believed to have been related to the family of the White Star Shipping Line.
