built with early and later elements, the seated monkey, robed in silk, coloured lace and satin layered clothes, composition hands, head and feet, with hookah and rope pipe, dressed interior with rug, dried flowers and wall drapes, in table cabinet with twin side and front glazed windows, ebonised pillars and top, gold finished base frieze - with simple late musical movement drive, all formed of some early and mostly later elements including gilt transfer to front glazed panel, facsimile Lambert labels pasted to the rear rustically finished panel - 27x15", 69x38cm
It is clear this piece was not built to deceive for a number of reasons, but not least as Phalibois used the monkey as their trademark, not Lambert.
