Courtois: A Miniature Portrait of a Young Lady, half length, wearing a loose robe holding a wreath of flowers, further flowers in her hair, signed COURTOIS, enamel, circular
5cm diameter, in gilt metal frame

Provenance: The Earls of Lonsdale, sold at the 1947 dispersal of the contents of Lowther Castle, lot 1155

A similar miniature, also signed Courtois, painted with a portrait of Lady Lucy Eleanor Lowther, wife of the Honourable Colonel Lowther, appeared at auction in Hong Kong in 2019 where it was attributed to Nicholas Andre Courtois

Very good condition. Enamels bright and free from notable wear. Frame in good order.
