A Late 19th/Early 20th Century Court Dress Uniform to Lord Westbury M.C., D.L., comprising a black silk bicorn hat with silver bullion trim, a black velvet tailcoat with cut steel buttons, a pair of black velvet breeches with cut steel buttons and buckles, two cream silk waistcoats, a pair of stockings, a pair of cream kid gloves, two pairs of black patent leather shoes with cut steel buckles, a waist belt with sword frog, a court sword with cut steel hilt, steel mounted leather scabbard and black rexine outer cover, all contained in a japanned tin case, the hinged cover with inset brass escutcheon engraved Honble. Richard Bethell; a Similar Court Dress Uniform Labelled to Lord Westbury, comprising a black silk bicorn hat, a velvet tailcoat and breeches, a pair of stockings, a pair of garters, two pairs of kid gloves and a waist belt with sword frog; also, a No.1 dress blue wool jacket with brass buttons, a pair of overalls, a black silk bicorn hat, a pair of silver bullion thread shoulder cords, a pair of shoulder straps, a gold bullion sword knot, a pair of black wool breeches, a waist belt with sword slings and dress sash to the Scots Guards, a brown leather Sam Browne, a stable belt, a pair of cream kid gloves, a pair of brown leather gloves, a pair of nickel box spurs, a pair of boot hooks and a wood paperweight set with the badge of the 47th Regiment of Foot, in a Johns & Pegg Ltd cardboard box (qty)

The first court dress described - The chest measurement is 42inches, the waist measurement is 40 inches. One of the waistcoats has minor staining to the right hem edge. One of the pairs of shoes has paper stuck to the surface of the black patent leather and some orange rust pitting to the buckles. The steel chains on the bicorn hat has minor orange rust pitting. The remaining uniform parts are in good clean condition, with many of the cut steel buttons covered in protective paper..
The second court dress described - the jacket is in good condition; the silk lining of the breeches has perished; the cut steel trim on the bicorn hat has orange rust pitting and the velvet is worn with some loss of securing stitches to the top.
The third uniform described - the blue wool jacket is a 36 inch chest and the pocket flaps have slight mildew; the gold lace trim has tarnished on the trousers, which are for a 30 inch waist; the gold lace trim on the bicorn hat is tarnished.
There is no moth damage to any of the uniform parts.
