A 19th Century Samoan Talavalu Saw-Tooth War Club, of dense hardwood, the cylindrical haft carved with bands of chevrons, the slightly flared butt with central blade pommel, 98cm

The head with fine vertical splits along the grain and chips to the saw-tooth edge. Some sign of beetle damage which does not compromise the strength of the wood.
