Sidney Barnsley (1865-1926) An Oak Glazed Bookcase, circa 1921, the upper section decorated along the top breakfront and bottom edge with a chip-carved lozenge pattern, each top end with a protruding edge decorated with a chip-carved triangle pattern above three glazed doors, the centre door with Hobb's & Co. London lock, each door with pear drop handles, the glazing surrounded by chip-carving, on stepped supports, the base with a rectangular top with exposed dovetail and tenon construction, the front edge with chip-carving, the three fielded doors enclosing adjustable shelves, three scroll and heart motif handles, surrounded by chip-carving, the base sides with indented panels, panelled back, on a moulded chamfered base joined by two arched chamfered stretchers, 5'3 1/2 (161.5cm) wide, 1'6" (46cm) deep, 6'2 1/2" (189cm)
