A First World War Gallantry Group of Three Medals, awarded to 15190 PTE.W.FREARSON. 9/YORK.R., comprising Military Medal, British War Medal and Victory Medal, together with a typed dedication describing the action for which he received the Military Medal "At Dickebush on the 22nd June 1917, when the camp was being heavily shelled, this man, who is a groom, immediately fetched his two horses away. Whilst doing so, one horse that he had hold of was killed by a shell and the other one was wounded in the chest and tried to break away. Private Frearson held on, and led it to safety."
