A George II Silver Coffee-Pot, by Benjamin Godfrey, London, 1738, tapering cylindrical and with reeded base, the hinged cover with acorn finial, with carved wood handle, engraved with a crest within foliage cartouche, 20cm high, gross weight 20oz 17dwt
. Fully marked under base. The cover marked inside with lion passant. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The crest is possibly later engraved in place of the original engraving.
