Pilgrim began producing kit cars in the late 1960's with the first few vehicles being constructed in the original owners garage in Sussex. Since then the company has produced several different types of kit's including the very successful Cobra replica and they have gone on to manufacture over 15,000 units to date. This Pilgrim Hawthorn was built using a single Morris Marina as a donor vehicle in order to retain that vehicles identity. The kit has been painted in bright red with white stripes and gold alloy wheels. The vehicle appears to have been fitted with a Ford Pinto engine. The V5C shows the engine to be 2293cc which is unconfirmed and is more likely a smaller unit. Invoices show that the kit was delivered to a Mr Raw of Didcot 09/12/87 at a cost of £1754, it is not clear when the build was finished. A file containing various invoices over the years and previous M.O.T certificates is present with the car.
