This lovely example was restored by Charles Ware, Bristol Coachbuilders, the leading UK specialists in Morris Minor restoration. Restored in 2000 with an external and internal repaint in maroon, new interior and new tan hood. Converted to run on unleaded fuel and fitted upgrades including an electric washer kit, radial tyres, water temperature/oil/amp gauges and inertia seat belts.
This lovely example comes with an extensive folder of receipts, invoice and photographs of the restoration. The fondest regarded of all Britain's post-war saloons, the Morris Minor was launched at the 1948 Motor Show and by January 1961 had sold 1 million units to become the UK's most successful car to date. The post-war Morris design boasted torsion bar independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering, and a four speed gear box. A pair of two door models was offered initially, a saloon and a convertible. A four door saloon arrived in 1950, estates and commercials following later. The Traveller estate version first appeared in 1953.
