oblong and with canted corners, the gallery border pierced with slats and foliage and with a shaped gadrooned rim, with integral handles, on eight fluted tapering feet, engraved with an inscription within foliage and flower scrolls

The inscription reads 'Presented To W. E. Elsey to Commemorate His Winning National Produce Stakes £5000 with Colt by Enthusiast - Noble Duchess 16th July 1898 Martin FitzGerald'.
