The MGB introduced in 1962 was an innovative modern design two door sports car that utilized a monocoque structure rather than the body on frame construction seen on earlier MG's production ran from 1962 to 1980 and well over half a million cars were produced during this period. Between 1973 and 1976 MG built the MG BGT V8 with a very small run of two thousand five hundred and ninety one cars, one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine of these cars were the earlier chrome bumper model.

This car is commission number 000567 and was built 28th March 1973 at the Abingdon factory. Initially supplied in damask red but now presented in black and fitted with a full length Webasto roof.

The file supplied with the vehicle shows thousands have been spent on its upkeep throughout the years. Full black leather re-trim and red carpet set 15/03/1993 @ £1385.75. With receipts for around £10,000 in 1988 for a full rebuild and blueprinted engine by Brown and Gammons MG specialist's. Bottom half re-spray 14/02/2004 @ £480. The vehicle is now fitted with a Piper X air filter and sits on after market wheels. However the original wheels are supplied along with the original chrome bumpers.

Overall the car presents itself very well. Some very small paint imperfections and rust bubbles to the lower edge of the chrome trim on the front wings. After market alloy wheels with a few paint bubbles present fitted with a matched set of Yokohama tyres with excellent tread. Original wheels supplied off the car and would benefit from refurbishment. Front grille would benefit from re-chroming. Most panels do have paint blemishes and small imperfections as expected. The interior of the car is in very good condition with black leather seats and red piping. Carpets are red and in good order. Luggage cover fitted and the boot area is very tidy. Both front and rear bumpers have been replaced but the over riders have pitting and would benefit from replacement or re-chroming.
