Taxidermy: A Very Rare Specimen of a Western Ground Parrot (Pezoporus flaviventris), circa 1900, full mount with head slightly raised, perched upon a lichen covered branch issuing from an earth covered natural base, enclosed beneath a period glass dome, mounted upon an oval ebonised base, raised upon four feet, overall height 39cm, width 30cm, depth 14cm

The Western Ground Parrot has become one of the rarest birds on the planet, the first photo taken of a wild specimen was recorded in 2004. This species has declined rapidly between 1990-2009 from 400 individuals to 110 individuals.
