Taxidermy: Hydrocephalic Calf (Bos taurus), modern, a full mount calf stood with head turning slightly to the left, nose to tail 80cm, overall height 57cm. Hydrocephalus, is an increase in volume of the CSF, can appear similar to hydranencephaly, but in hydrocephalus the ventricles retain a complete ependymal lining. When born alive, affected animals often have a characteristic dome-shaped head, and may also have inappetence, seizures, lethargy and altered mental status.
