The Hillman Avenger was a rear wheel drive small family car manufactured by the Rootes Group between 1970-78 it was badged as the Chrysler Avenger from 76-79 and finally as the Talbot Avenger between 79-81. Built to compete against the Ford Cortina initially although the Cortina soon outgrew the small car group and the Ford Escort became the new competition. As of February 2016 it is said that fewer than two hundred and sixty examples still exist on British roads (source "100 popular cars vanishing from our roads")
This is a 1500 CC Super Automatic Sunshine Ltd Edition in yellow with vinyl roof. Fitted with three speed automatic gearbox and showing just under 26,000 miles with MOT history dating back to 1993 at 12,996 miles to help confirm the mileage. Presented in what appears to be its original paint work and body panels.
The fuel tank has a slight leak but a spare used tank is included in the sale.
Sold with a history file containing invoices and photographs.

Brief list of parts included: New thermostat and housing, various hoses, exhaust section, condensers and rotor arms, carburetor service kit, numerous manuals including Haynes, new coil, spark plugs new, pair of new front brake hoses, spare used fuel tank etc. The overall condition of the car is very good with only minor surface rust to the lower edges of both front wings and sills. All arches have surface rust. The windscreen surround has signs of silicon sealer to its top edge. Interior is in very good shape with the only obvious damage to the area around the choke pull.
