Born in Lancashire in 1926, Dingle spent her childhood in Dalton-in-Furness where she trained as a nurse and midwife. Stephanie later studied at the Warrington School of Art where she was taught by the highly respected Northern Artist Will Turner. It was here that she developed her distinctive naive, simplified style. Her work can be found in numerous private and public collections, including the Manchester City Gallery.
