A George III Silver Double-Beaker
by Charles Aldridge and Henry Green, London, 1768

formed as two reeded tapering cylindrical beakers which fit together
total height 14.8cm high, each beaker 7.7cm high, 11oz 3dwt, 346gr

The double beaker can trace its origins back to Germany in the 16th and 17th centuries, though were not widely made in the United Kingdom with the exception of a short period in the 1760s and 1770s when a number of examples were made, mostly by Aldridge and Green as with the present example.

Each beaker fully marked underneath. There is some minor wear to the marks. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use.
