oblong, the hinged cover with a plaque enamelled with a Venetian view, the sides engraved with foliage and the base engine-turned, later engraved inside with an inscription and dated '1937'

Marked inside the base and part marked inside cover with English import marks. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some minor bruises to the base. There are some scratches to the enamel. The gilding is pale.
