Late 19th Century Earl of Lonsdale Louis Vuitton Large Case, in monogrammed LV canvas with red, white and yellow striped livery and cypher for the Earl of Lonsdale, gilt metal locks, leather buckled straps, a brown leather interior fitted for toiletries and accessories stamped 'Louis Vuitton 752867' including two brown leather mounted hinged boxes, folding manicure set (a.f.) with one tool, travelling inkwell, silver cigarette case, vesta, card case, cylindrical jar with screw top cover, another similar with hinged cover (lacking base), tot cup, five glass jars with silver covers, all these are engraved, or bearing silver mounted Earl of Lonsdale cyphers, silver marks by Frederick Purnell, London 1881, some pieces engraved 'H Lewis, 172 New Bond St', three further glass bottles with French silver mounts and screw top silver tops, spare bottle top and two mounts all impressed with Lonsdale cypher, other items comprise leather pouch and cover enclosing two candles, leather rectangular pocket, Vinolia shaving soap in original tin, leather razor strap impressed in gilt 'W J Guy 160A Piccadilly' and another with canvas reverse,

Case - Interior, leather underside of the lid is loose, only attached at the bottom and white wadding visible. Also coming loose where the lining is attached to the front and to the left hand side. Lots of wear overall to interior the worst affected is the area at the back above and within two pockets where leather has deteriorated, similar also to the left hand side compartments. A small patched repair on the right side, the majority of pockets show some wear, loose stitches.
Exterior - scuffing and wear overall, two of the brass corners are split to the back right hand side. Damp to the base? and leather discoloured and tear.
