A Pair of Victorian Hussar's Leather Boots, by Bartley & Sons, 493 Oxford Street, London, the tops with silver bullion braid trim centred by an oval rosette, the interior stamped and gilt with maker's name and inscribed in ink with original owner's number and name 96977 J.S. Wigan, 13th Hussars, possibly size 8 or 9

Metal braid around top of both boots with defective stitching in places, thus braid loose in sections. Leather appears fairly dry and surface finish has deteriorated slightly in places. Sole and heels basically sound.
