Late 19th Century Louis Vuitton Cabin Trunk, with a beige and brown rayee striped canvas mount, enclosing two lift out trays, pink double striped papered interior bearing the label, 'Louis Vuitton, 1 Rue Scribe, no 11535', hand painted to the top of the trunk, 'Capt R L Garnons-Williams R.N., Singapore c/o N.S.O., Naval Store Depot, Deptford', 80cms by 46cm by 46cm
Rayee pattern was only produced between 1876-1888.

Interior - the canvas striped base has numerous stains, and matching paper sides have numerous tears and wear through rubbing. Damages to each internal corner of the lid. Split /crack to one side. The shelves both have some staining, wear and tears, rubbing, and several small holes to the fabric base. Exterior - The metal straps show rusting and dents. The wooden batons have chips, staining and wear. Leather strap missing. Canvas has numerous scratches, staining, some splits, holes and wear overall. An area of worm holes to one side, and several smaller areas overall with couple of holes. Layers of labels to both sides. The base has had some white paint put on, has original castors, lots of wear to base. See images
