in the George III style, slightly tapering cylindrical and with incised lines, with angular handle, engraved with an inscription
13.5cm high, 15oz 15dwt, 490gr

Provenance:
Woolley and Wallis, Salisbury, 21 July 2010, lot 841, where unsold.
with J. Surtees, The London Silver Vaults, November 2010.

The inscription reads 'This Cup was Made From The Last Ingot of Silver Which Was Refined at the Lead Words of Mess'rs Mather and Co. Bagillt, Flintshire 22nd March 1854'.

Fully marked underneath. The marks are generally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The interior with pale gilding.
