A Royal Horse Guards Diamond, Enamel and Gem-Set Regimental Brooch
the initials RHG centrally set throughout with eight-cut diamonds in white claw settings, within an oval frame enamelled in blue reading HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, with EGYPT 1882 to the base, surmounted by a coronet set throughout with eight-cut and rose cut diamonds, round cabochon emeralds and rubies and red enamel, total estimated diamond weight 0.20 carat approximately
measures 4.3cm by 2.2cm

The brooch is in fair condition with one cabochon ruby lacking. It fastens with a pin and revolver catch. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity SI1/SI2/I1. Gross weight 7.7 grams. CR made 21.12.23.
