A German Waffen SS M1934 Cavalry Forage Cap, in field grey cloth, the left side with machine sewn W-SS triangular black felt and pale grey cotton eagle badge, the front with aluminium SS Totenkopf button marked on the back with SS & RZM stamps, with inverted yellow cotton ‘V’ for Cavalry or Reconnaissance units, the grey cotton liner with large fabric SS RZM label.
Estimated at £450 - £500
Very slight wear to the nap, and a few very tiny moth holes, the surface of the internal RZM label perishing, otherwise good condition.

Highlights of the Militaria section include an interesting collection of items relating to Colonel Alwyn de Blaquiere Valentine Paget, a Gentleman at Arms (bodyguard) to King Edward VII, a Second World War RAF Sector Clock, used in operations' rooms to aid track and intercept enemy aircraft over Britain and two collections of badges, buttons and insignia. A good offering of Ethnographica in the sale is lead by a 19th Century Australian Aboriginal Parrying Shield, from the Lower Murray River Region.
