An 19th Century West African Divination Bowl, possibly Yoruba, of dark rich patinated wood, of shallow circular form, the raised inner rim carved with a band of masks, the inner base carved with concentric bands of snakes, masks and various animals, the outer rim carved with further masks, 53cm diameter, 8cm high
