An Indian Army First/Second World War Group of Nine Medals, awarded to 2659 PTE.(later Captain) P.(Percy)D.(Douglas) ALEXANDER 17/LRS., comprising 1914 Star, British War Medal (LIEUT.), Victory Medal (LIEUT.), 1939-45 Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal, General Service Medal 1918-62 with clasp S.PERSIA (LIEUT.), India General Service Medal 1909 with two clasps WAZIRISTAN 1919-21, and WAZIRISTAN 1921-24 (CAPT.3-8, PJBIS.), together with research material including photocopies of Indian Army List April 1920 and Medal Index Card stating he served with the 17th Lancers, 2/Royal Irish Rifles attached to the 15th Lancers Indian Cavalry. Footnote:- In the First World War he served with the 17th Lancers, Indian Army 15th Lancers and he commanded the Royal Irish Rifles; in the Second World War he served with the R.I.A.S.C. Animal Transport
