Auction: 20th Century Design, 17th Jun, 2023

Highlights of the sale include two impressive stained-glass windows by renowned Ecclesiastical manufacturers Hardman & Co., once installed in All Saints Church, Emscote, Warwick. The church was demolished in 1967, having sustained irreparable structural damage during the Coventry air raids in 1940.

The sale also features an interesting offering of ceramics, dating from the late 19^th century to contemporary makers, which include a Maw & Co. Ruby Lustre Charger, five pieces by the famed 20^th century potter Lucie Rie and a good collection of Contemporary Ceramics including a tall stoneware vase by Richard Batterham.

Amongst a varied offering of Mouseman in the sale is a suite of bedroom furniture commissioned in 1951, a selection of fine carvings, and the largest and smallest examples of Mouseman bowls to have been sold at Tennants.
