. The Toyota MR2 is a two-seat, mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports car manufactured in Japan and marketed globally by Toyota from 1984 to 2007, over three generations: W10 (1984-1989), W20 (1990-1999) and W30 (2000-2007). From its original design, the car evolved into a sports car and Japan's first mid-engine production car. Further prototypes were tested both in Japan and in California, including significant testing on race circuits including Willow Springs. Heavily influenced by Italian sports cars of the era, such as the Fiat X19 and Ferrari's 308 GTB, Toyota designed an affordable sports car, far removed from anything else on the market at that time. The series 1 MR2 (W10) is now recognised as a truly brilliant design with bulletproof reliability. Being mid-engined, the handling was precise and the styling revolutionised car design for ever. This series one car has emerged from a twenty year slumber and can only be described as in remarkable original condition. Showing only 37,000 original miles, the car has been owned virtually from new. The interior is excellent, though would benefit from a professional valet. The paint is original though shows signs of micro blistering in localised areas and there is some like damage in the form of small dents on top of the rear wing (damaged in previous storage). With some servicing work there is no doubt this MR2 could make a stunning and rare show contender.
