A Second World War RAF Composite Flying Suit, comprising a pair of Irvin sheepskin lined leather flying trousers, with Air Ministry label Size 7, Waist 36"-38", Seat 42"-44", Leg 34 1/2", the brass zips with Lightning pull tabs and elasticated braces; an unlabelled sheepskin lined leather flying jacket with replaced front zip, and metal cuff zips with Aero pull tabs; a pair of sheepskin lined brown suede flying boots dated 1941, possibly size 7; a leather flying helmet and goggles (6)

Trousers with tears to each leg, zips work, one patch pocket missing with flap remaining, other patch pocket with loose stitching. Jacket wiht tears around the cuffs, some seams with stitch loss, cuff zips broken, main zip a replacement. Boots - rubberized seal around sole is perished, one inner leather zip flap coming unstitched, otherwise good. Helmet with no markings or ear pieces. Goggles with no visible markings.

Also included are a vast range of objects created in the early 20th century or earlier by indigenous cultures around the world, from early American civilisations to African tribes and Polynesian island cultures, incorporating religious idols, domestic and ritual objects, figurative sculpture, jewellery and weapons of all descriptions.

 

Viewing

Tuesday 22 March 10am-5pm and morning of sale from 8am. Viewing is open to the public, there is no need to make an appointment.
